There is some confusion over what a natural wine actually is and there are many different terms to learn if you want to find good quality, natural wines. Some wine is referred to as organic, but an organic wine is not technically sulphite free or free from chemical tampering.

Natural Wine is produced to contain minimal amounts of sulphites (technically it’s impossible to have a wine without sulphites in), but natural wines are made without the use or chemicals, sugars or artificial yeasts.

Unfortunately there is no definitive legislation stated what a natural wine is, so many different wine producers state their wine is natural based on what they believe the wine should be like. The term isn’t often seen in supermarkets, which is good, because supermarket bought wine rarely passes for natural!

Llandudno is a beautiful Victorian Seaside resort in North Wales known as ‘Queen of the Welsh Resorts’. It is the largest seaside resort in Wales and attracts thousands of visitors every year.

You will not be spoilt for choice in Llandudno as it has wide range of wonderful Llandudno Hotels, B&B, guest houses and caravan and camping sites.

First there was Organic, then Biodynamic now Natural wines, what does it all means you may be asking??

Well let me explain, yes it can be confusing with all these new wine terms popping up all the time but let me explain the main difference to you in a nut shell.

Organic status wines basically mean that ‘only the grapes’ for these wine are organic, it is not widely known that during the actual wine making process chemicals are permitted which can have detrimental affects to somebody who is sulphite intolerant. Biodynamic wines on the other hand may also add sulphur to their wines, as it is permitted by law that that the wine maker can add up to 90 mg/l of sulphur to wines.

When in doubt go for sulphite free natural wines and avoid the hangover blues the next day!! These wines are totally healthy with the most minimal amount of sulphur in them and best of all there are some fantastic tasting natural wines on the market.

There are 9 white wines that are considered to be all time favourites amongst many White Wine drinkers, although there are many other wonderful white wines on the market.

I have listed below the 9 white wines that are most popular from my recent research; however please feel free to list any white wines that you prefer in the comments box below.

Chardonnay - A dry white wine that is very popular worldwide. The Chardonnay grape is pretty low maintenance and can be grown in most climates. Because of this it is widely grown throughout the world and is generally great value for money. It comes in a variety of flavours such as buttery, apple, pear, melon, oak, and even citrus. It accompanies many food types but it probably goes best with seafood, creamy dishes, pork and poultry.
Chenin Blanc - The Chenin Blanc grape is originally from the Loire valley of France. It is very acidity meaning it can be used to make everything from sparkling wine to well-balanced dessert wines.
Pinot Grigio/Pinot Gris - An all time favourite in Italy and also very popular in the UK. The Pinot Gris or Pinot Gris is carefully crafted from these grapes. A very light flavoured crisp wine. It has a very smooth overtone and comes in different flavours including melon, pear and tropical fruits. This wine goes well with light flavoured pastas, seafood or cheese and crackers.
Sauvignon Blanc - Another dry white wine grown mainly in France and New Zealand. The French variety has grand herbal tones whilst the New Zealand variety has tropical fruits and gooseberry flavours. Semillon - A classic full bodied dry French wine with distinctly fruity flavours. It is often blended with a Sauvignon Blanc to create a wonderful light drinking wine.
Viognier - An extremely difficult white wine grape to grow because it mildews easily. It grows well in warmer climates. A sweet wine with very strong flavours. And for this reason it pairs well with very spicy food, such as Thai. It also goes well with fish dishes.

Red Wine Varieties

There is a wide range of Red Wines on the market, and enough to suit all tastes and budgets.

I will list in order the Red Wines which I think are the most popular of the red wines grapes, this however does not necessarily mean it is correct, its just the list I have created and the ones that are more apparent to me and my friends (I have asked for their input with this).

1. Cabernet Sauvignon
These grapes are small, black with very tough skins. The wine is high in tannins and if not oaked it can be quite harsh. These grapes consist of rich flavours and taste of blackcurrent and chocolate and can be spicy.

2. Merlot
Merlot grapes are also small, blue in colour with thin skins. Merlot is a much softer and smoother wine than Cabernet and has far less tannins. It has complex flavours and low acid. Flavours of this wine include plum, cherry, blackcurrant, and rose.

3. Pinot Noir A very smooth wine, sometimes referred to as “liquid silk”. A soft texture, full bodied, but not as heavy as a cabernet. The flavours of this lovely wine consist of raspberries, cherries and smoke. Low in acid and tannins but high in alcohol.

4. Syrah/Shiraz
A black skinned grape with thick skin, it is a worldwide grape growing well in most places. Deep in colour, and highin tannins. The flavours consist of plum, blackberries and smoke. Made in two different styles; heavy and rich and fruitier and easy to drink.

5. Sangiovese
One of Italy’s oldest wines. Its colour has little depth; however it is high in tannins and acid.

6. Zinfandel
An all American grape. An easy growing grape that can be vinified in many styles from light to claret, to a very high alcohol wine. Flavours consist of berry and spice to black pepper.

Kenco Coffee

I, like many people find it really hard to motivate myself in the morning without my daily Kenco Coffee fix. I’ve tried various brands of other coffee but none seem to hit the spot like Kenco Coffee.

Fortunately for me, we have just had a new Kenco Coffee Machine brought into the office which stocks not just coffee but other products as well in a range known as Kenco Singles. These are just superb as many people have a different preference when it comes to a hot beverage. Some like tea, other like hot chocolate some like light coffee where as other like strong coffee (strong for me every time)! The Kenco Singles range also includes espresso, cappuccinos, black coffee and even peppermint tea, the list goes on and on.

I used to be someone that didn’t leave the house before I had two coffees in the morning but these days I am more inclined to get to work a little bit early and enjoy a nice strong Columbian Coffee before the work load begins.

It’s that time of year when the winter chill is starting to creep upon us. A lot of us find it difficult to leave the house in the evening and would much rather curl up on the couch and watch TV. However if you had a nice cosy pub to visit, that serves great food, has an extensive wine list and a log fire, then I’m sure that could tempt you out for an evening of fun with your nearest and dearest.

Where ever you are located in the UK there is sure to be a nice cosy pub close by that offers a warm welcome and quality food, in a homely environment.

I visited North Wales last years and was advised to try a lovely traditional North Wales Country Pub called the Queens Head which is located in Glanwydden, Conwy. It has won numerous awards over the years and the food is just divine. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

There are also twin seater ports and starboard saloon seats delivering further comfort and allowing relaxation whilst sailing across the seas. Within the galley of the boat there is a single burner alcohol stove, a sink, and a 12v refrigerator. The Rinker 250 also has a sea water toilet with washbasin and a very large athwartship double berth aft.

Aswell as comfort the Rinker 250 Fiesta Vee Powerboat also aids with navigation across the sea with its VHF, Steering compass, log, depth reader, fish finder and its own GPS so the owner will always know the best place to be and the most efficient direction to travel.

The boat is being powered by a “General Motors” 190hp 6.2ltrs V8 diesel with a Mercruiser Bravo II leg. It also features an automatic fire extinguisher inside the engine just incase anything went wrong.

Mini Transat

The Mini Transat is an original boat built in 1999 and designed by Mark Mills. This exact boat has competed in many classe mini competitions as well as the royal southern double handed series. She also came first in the mini classe 2005 UK series. It is built using a carbon fibre foam sandwich for the hull, a canting fin and bulb keel, asymmetric daggerboards and finally twin rudders.

This Mini Transat is the perfect boat to start racing and competing in high speed races and the boat’s price is very attractive for a new comer. This tiny yacht has such an amazing build it can travel across waters with speeds of up to 22 knots allowing it to cross the English Channel in less than 5 hours.

Small yachts like this don’t actually have a great amount of living and sleeping area’s as they are designed purely for racing but this Mini Transat is one of the only yachts of its type to have a pipe cot and chart table, giving it an edge on luxury compared to other similar boats.

As this boat has been designed to compete in races the navigational aid is a great help to the boat. With Raymarine autopilot, wind speed/direction and speed/depth readers the pilot will know exactly what they are up against when away from home. It also has GPS system and compass to help with directions when miles away from anywhere.

To make sure this boat moves with speed there are 2 Water ballast tanks in aft sections which give the boat a boost when there is a lack of wind around and when windy conditions occur there are six sails that complete the job perfectly. These are the main sail, a fractional spinnaker, a mast head spinnaker, a jib, a code zero, a tri sail and finally a storm jib, allowing progression through all different conditions. All of these are supported by an Aluminum mast, a 3.5m carbon bow sprit and carbon boom.

Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 33i

Jeanneau are known for their very high standard boats. The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 33i has a perfectly balanced sail and a large cockpit making it a great partner when sailing on the water.

On the deck of the Sun Odyssey 33i is the perfect amount of room to have people in the sun as well as working the sails to help manoeuvre this fantastic boat. Although this style of boat does not have a great amount of seating above deck, the inside definitely makes up for this minor problem.

Below the deck of the Sun Odyssey 33i is a very large living area featuring both living accommodation, sleeping areas and of course the food preparing area. The saloon offers two large settees running down either side of the boat, outboard there is a large set of corresponding lockers that run down the hull side giving the boat that extra bit of storage. There is one large wall separating the sleeping quarters from the living area, giving privacy when needed. But even with this door closed there is still a very large area covered in seating for friends and family to enjoy a meal whilst sailing across the water. As well as these there is a beautifully designed WC with a hot shower.

The whole interior is crafted with a Satin Teak finish and with the large amount of natural light that flows through the windows; the owner will be surrounded by a beautiful sight every time eyes are set on this boat.

This boat is powered by both sail and engine, on top of the deck is a Seldon mast with double spreaders and attached to this is an 80% battened classic polyester mainsail. Finally, below deck is a Yanmar 3YM20 21hp diesel engine. Shaft drive.

Princess 38

Princess boats are known throughout the boat building industry as they always deliver very high quality, durable boats. For example, this Princess 38 is one of their very high quality builds bringing the owner everything they could want from a boat, with perfect style. Each section of the boat is built perfectly and designed to suit the other areas of the boat. All of the interior design flows in terms of colour and proportion. As this specific Princess 38 has only had one owner since it was bought new she is well worth viewing. The construction of the boat is a GPR super structure and hull making it durable and long lasting.

The boat has a massive living area. Within this area are two decks. The lower deck has got two separate cabins, one has a double berth and one has two single berths. Initially designed for a family of two adults and two children, or even 2 couples but one would have to take to single beds. The living areas are very generous with space and have a great design to them. Although they look very basic it is the perfect amount of storage and space for anyone to keep their belongings there whilst sailing and exploring the seas.
Alongside these cabins is a WC complete with toilet, shower cubicle and a sink unit.
Finally on the lower deck is the galley where all the food is prepared. This is complete with a twin burner cooker and oven, a microwave, a fridge and a twin sink unit.

The upper deck is complete with a saloon that has been designed with a blue leather design and a light cherry wood finish to give it that extra high quality style.
The Princess 38 also has a high amount of navigational aids including a Raymarine C120 Chartplotter at helm, and Raymarine Raydome radar. There is also a great autopilot system with a remote control that gives the boat the extra touch of class enabling the pilot to begin the boat without even being at the cockpit.

Powering the Princess 38 are two Volvo Penta 370 hp engines delivering a top speed off between 30 and 33 knots. The engine model is the Volvo TAMD 63P.

Azure AZ 279

This Azure AZ 279 is as good as new when bought as it only has the factory tested hours on the clock. The boat itself looks very nice, it has a great modern look to the outside and the interior of the boat is also very modern. Although the outside of the boat doesn’t look like it can seat many people, the boat itself can comfortably hold up to around 10 people without anyone squeezing in, giving the boat a great chance to host small parties or family gatherings whilst cruising around the bay.

The accommodation within this Azure AZ 279 looks very welcoming as there is a large 2 berth cubby cabin with separate head compartments allowing maximum comfort when drifting on the seas. Also the Azure AZ 279 has lifting bolsters for helm and passenger seats. The boat includes a nice WC with a wash basin as well as a toilet. The galley on board the AZ 279 includes a fridge and a sink.
The piloting area looks very modern and has a high spec system where all the controls lie. It has been finished with colours that flow perfectly together with the rest of the interior of the boat and just gives it a perfect appearance.

The boat is being powered by a 5.7 GXI Volvo penta, with stainless steel duo props. Dessert wines are a staple of traditional dining, and for a reason. They have a purpose beyond simply having something sweet to drink whilst you consume your dessert. In fact, they can actually enhance the taste of your dessert. Whatever the situation, it is important that the right dessert wine is chosen to compliment your sweet, a decision that (when done properly) is guaranteed to satisfy and impress you and your guests.

Surprisingly, sweet wines can be happily consumed with courses other than dessert. For example, they are luscious when consumed with almond biscuits or pâté (the French Sauternes is traditionally partnered with fois gras). Other sweet wines can actually be the dessert themselves: it all depends on the taste you wish to create and the mood you wish to enhance.

The most important rule to remember is that the wine must be sweeter than the meal. Otherwise, after a mouthful of sweet pudding (e.g. chocolate), the wine will taste dry, which is undesired. It is therefore important to sample both dessert and wine (in that order) before deciding on the course of culinary action to be taken. It is for this reason that a sweet wine enhances the taste of the dessert: if the wine is sweeter than the dessert, the dessert will be so easy to eat, not at all sickly, in comparison to the sipped wine. If you have trouble finding a wine sweet enough for certain desserts, such as sticky toffee pudding or sweet chocolate mousse, it may be worth drinking a fortified wine such as Port or Madeira alongside them instead of a dessert wine.

Perhaps the most famous dessert wine is "Sauternes" from the Bordeaux region of France. The winemaking techniques employed at the vineyards here are some of the most complex on the planet, as they use a method called "noble rot". Sounds disgusting...but it is this noble rot that produces a naturally sweet wine, with no added sugar or alcohol. Grapes are left on the vine for much longer than is usual, allowing a fungus (Botrytis cinerea) to develop. This fungus ‘extracts’ water from the grapes, giving them an extremely high sugar concentration, whilst imparting flavours of honeysuckle and peaches to the must. The conditions needed to produce such a phenomenon must be exact, usually entailing misty morning and hot afternoons.

Another recommended dessert wine to be explored is the Hungarian Tokay wine (Tokaji). Tokay is in fact a much older noble rot wine than Sauternes, and is world famous for being produced only in small quantities, and for its distinctive flavour and sweetness. Throughout history, Tokay has been the favourite of many notable people, including the composers Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert, Liszt, and Johann Strauss.

A fine cigar will have been through a fine process to get to you. Its tobacco will have been cured through a number of different ways to create different aromas and flavours. It will then have been carefully selected for different parts of the cigar and then finely hand rolled to create a cigar of perfection. The cigar may have then been stored in a special wooden box to mature for a number of years. After this exceptional process lighting your cigar without using proper cigar lighters could ruin the aromas and flavours that have been carefully created.

A match is dipped in sulphur to help it spark; using this to light your cigar can result in this being dragged through the cigar spoiling the flavour and aromas of the cigar with every breath. Also because a match is small and burns slowly its flame is affected by any air movement which surrounds it, this will almost certainly lead to an unevenly lit cigar, which could cause areas of the cigar not to burn properly.

In the year 2003, exactly 100 years after the Wright Flyer made its historic first flight at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, another aviation first was recorded in the history books. The world's first exoskeleton backpack aircraft, the SoloTrek XFV (Exoskeleton Flying Vehicle), demonstrated conclusively that its technology was both viable and practical.Over a seven-year development effort that began in 1996, two proof-of-concept SoloTrek prototype aircraft were designed, built and hover-tested by a crack, five-man development team. Three different pilots accumulated 63 flight sorties and over 76 hours of test time while demonstrating stable, controlled hover flight in wind conditions gusting to 12 knots.The original SoloTrek proof-of-concept prototype aircraft was retired from testing in the summer of 2002. Subsequently, it was donated to the Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos, California, where it remains on display to museum visitors.Separately, development and testing continues on SoloTrek and related products with private and government funding. Fast and Fun? Well they don't get much more so than this - the Porsche 911 4S. It is a truly beautiful car, and I love the way that it's shape is highly reminiscent of an E-type Jaguar.

With a 3.8 litre six-cylinder engine giving 385 horsepower, and 420 Nm of torque at 4'400 rpm stuck in the back of your car, there is no going wrong. This car is beautiful, and extremely classy looking. Porsche really have created something beautiful here.

It's top speed? 183 mph. And yes, that is fast. And it does 0-60 in an amazing 4.7 seconds. And considering it can do about 35 mpg in a run, you aren't going to run out of fuel soon either. It's price? £73'434.00 GBP inclusive of VAT. That is not something to complain about.
